MODELLING FLUID FLOW THROUGH A PLGA SCAFFOLD USING COMSOL

In this project, we built the model of a 5 x 5 mm PLGA scaffold in COMSOL in order to analyze the effects of different types of fluids on the macroscopic geometry of the scaffold. We tested out multiple flow rates in order to isolate the rate that best exerts a shear stress at the scaffold walls closest to biological levels. Our findings are currently being tested at Miami University's labs in bioreactors.
